According to the information issued by the Nepal Rastra Bank, a total of 3 million new notes of Rs 500 have been put into circulation since Asad 3. Earlier, Nepal Rastra Bank had put into circulation 248,000 notes of Rs 500 denomination (2020 series) from Poush 9, 2078 Nepal.
On the front of the new note, there is a picture of Mount Everest on the left and a watermark of red gourd on the right. The series number 2082 is written in the lower part. In addition, there are two black dots on the left side of the watermark for the visually impaired (blind) to identify the denomination of the note by touch. On the right side of Mount Everest, the new note has a picture of Kuber, which looks golden when viewed straight and green when viewed tilted.
The new note of Rs 500 issued bears the signature of Governor Prof. Dr. Bishwanath Poudel. In addition, the width of the note is 3.5 mm. There is a security thread that appears red when viewed straight on and green when viewed at an angle, and a picture of a banknote in the middle of the front of the note with the words NEPAL RASTRA BANK written above it.
