Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has stated that a person whose residence permit has been revoked must leave the country within 14 days. The ministry has clarified that a fine of 10 Qatari riyals per day will be imposed if they do not leave the country within the stipulated time.
Captain Ali Ahmed Ali Al-Kuwari of the Airport Passport Department, under the Ministry of Interior, provided this information in a webinar on “Safe Travel” organized on Monday. The program, organized by the Ministry’s Public Relations Department, offered details on the procedures to be followed and necessary precautions to be taken before traveling abroad.
According to Captain Al-Kuwari, earlier, 30 days were given to leave the country after a residency permit was revoked. However, this period has now been reduced to 14 days. He urged people who came to Qatar on a visit visa to pay special attention to the period of stay mentioned on the visa sticker affixed to their passports. There is a provision for a fine of 200 Qatari riyals per day for staying longer than the permitted period. He also suggested that before traveling to Qatar, it is mandatory to check your details through the ‘Metrash’ app.
Captain Al-Kuwari says, “If someone has a traffic violation, overstay fine, or any other outstanding charges, they can complete the process by paying online through Metrash, and if there are any travel restrictions, they can only travel after contacting the relevant authorities and the restrictions are lifted.”
The Ministry of Interior has urged passengers leaving or entering Qatar to ensure that their legal status, fines, and required documents are up to date before traveling.
