Palungtar’s Gaikhur Health Post is to be developed into a municipal hospital.
Palungtar Municipality of Gorkha has made public its policy to upgrade Gaikhur Health Post and develop it into a municipal hospital.
In its policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/2084, the municipality has put forward a plan to strengthen the physical infrastructure of Gaikhur Health Post, manage the necessary human resources, and expand the scope of health services to operate it as a municipal hospital. Considering the geographical situation of Palungtar Municipality, citizens of Wards 1 to 5 are currently receiving health services from Aappipal Hospital. However, citizens of Wards 6 to 10 have to depend on Aubukhaireni Hospital or Gorkha Hospital for treatment.
With the aim of easing this situation and providing quality health services to the city’s residents in their own area, the municipality has adopted a policy to upgrade Gaikhur Health Post (Bhotekhate), located at the center point between Wards 6 and 10, and operate it as a municipal hospital.
According to the municipality, once the hospital is operational, citizens of Wards 6 to 10 will receive easy, fast, and effective health services within their own city.
